About The Owner

MEET SARAH LEE

Hi! I’m Sarah. Thanks for stopping by! Baking has always been a passion of mine, but until the pandemic hit in 2020, it was nothing more than a hobby. Being stuck at home, pregnant and bored, but CRAVING some macarons, I decided “sure, I can whip up a batch!” Little did I know the journey on which I was about to embark... After months of trial and error, scouring the internet for macaron tutorials, tips, tricks, and…um…commiseration groups, I learned just how persnickety these treats are to make! I painfully went through months of tweaking my own ovens “sweet spot” and finally, I got them down! 

 

Playing with flavors and ingredients seems to come naturally to me, and my experimenting has extended into making cakes, pies, and all sorts of pastries! I try to use only fresh, real ingredients wherever I’m able, which means that syrups and “added flavors” almost never find their way into my bakes. Not sure if you’re ready to bite? My Philosophy on Ingredients

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY…EVERY TIME.

Ever had a macaron and thought, “Okay, I guess that sort of tasted like what they said it would…”? Me too.

From the beginning of my journey into macarons, I’ve been borderline obsessed with finding the best ways to infuse as much flavor as possible into this little, 3-4 bite cookie. Lots of interesting flavor syrups and extracts exist, but honestly? They taste a little weird. Sure, there’s a place in baking for cotton candy syrups and the like, but when it comes to ingredients you can find in the grocery store, that is exactly what I use. If it isn’t available, I ditch the flavor and pivot to a new idea, giving you a quality filling like no other! I also make all my own syrups and extracts if I think there’s any possible way to do it, and I’ll usually keep experimenting until I figure it out. This method gives me (and you!) lots of intense and deep flavors in my cookies and pastries.
